Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
Specializing in manufacturing process optimization, mechanical tooling design, and capital equipment projects.
Good Manufacturing Engineering does not happen strictly behind a monitor. My core operating principle is simple: if an Engineer designs a tool or a process, they must be able to demonstrate, understand, and operate it themselves.
Specializing in integrating with R&D teams during early prototype builds, getting hands-on with first-article assemblies to provide real-time Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback. By catching tolerance conflicts, ergonomic bottlenecks, and fabrication constraints before production freezes, it ensures tooling designs reflect shop-floor realities rather than theoretical models.
Cross-Disciplinary Industry Experience
Engineering background spans demanding sectors with distinct regulatory, sanitation, and precision requirements:
Automotive: Production line workflow balancing, structural fixtures, and cycle-time reduction.
Contract Electronics Assembly: Solder stencil specification, PCB functional test fixture design, and delicate component handling.
Food Processing: Sanitary conveyor systems, automated transport, and washdown-rated mechanical design.
Technical Competencies & Execution
CAD/CAM Proficiency: Advanced modeling and drafting in SolidWorks (primary), supported by working proficiency in Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo, and Solid Edge.
Tooling & Fixture Design: Balancing cycle efficiency, wear life, and unit cost using hybrid fabrication strategies—leveraging manual and CNC machining alongside production-grade additive manufacturing.
Facilities & Process Logistics: Comprehensive line integration from layout schematics and conveyor routing to full mechanical/electrical startup.
Key Milestone
Multistate Line Relocation: Managed the teardown, cross-country transit, reinstallation, and re-commissioning of a 72-station assembly line, restoring qualified production volume within seven days.
Exploration & Technical Curiosity
My approach outside the plant mirrors my work inside it: rapid, deep dives into unfamiliar technical domains. Whether deconstructing an unfamiliar mechanism, mastering a new software ecosystem, or experimenting with specialized fabrication processes, I treat every new subject as an opportunity to build practical intuition that directly informs my engineering problem-solving.
